VanderWerff Well Construction Project


About
OCWD is constructing a new groundwater well and, in partnership with the Orange County Water District, a water treatment facility at 210 North McPherson Road in Orange. The new Vanderwerff Well will serve the District’s water customers and enhance available local water supply resources.

Why is the project needed?

Construction Timeline (Drilling)

Impacts during construction

Noise and vibration related to well drilling and other construction activities.

Impacts are expected to be the greatest for the two weeks following the start of construction.

Well drilling activity schedule: Monday-Saturday 24 hours a day for enhanced stability and reduce the overall project duration.

Mitigation Measures

Soundwalls will be installed to decrease noise levels.

Noise levels will be monitored.
