About

 

OCWD is constructing a new groundwater well and, in partnership with the Orange County Water District, a water treatment facility at 210 North McPherson Road in Orange. The new Vanderwerff Well will serve the District’s water customers and enhance available local water supply resources.​

Why is the project needed?

 

  • Increases access to our local water supply.

  • Provides a reliable local water supply in the event of a disaster. 

  • Addresses increased state water quality standards.

Impacts during construction

 

  • Noise and vibration related to well drilling and other construction activities. 

  • Impacts are expected to be the greatest for the two weeks following the start of construction. 

  • Well drilling activity schedule: Monday-Saturday 24 hours a day for enhanced stability and reduce the overall project duration.

Mitigation Measures

 

  • Soundwalls will be installed to decrease noise levels.

  • Noise levels will be monitored.
