EOCWD is conducting an inventory, identification, and removal of lead service lines, if found, to ensure the safety of drinking water and to maintain compliance with the EPA’s Lead and Copper Rules.
To meet this obligation, our field team will be conducting inspections on every water meter in our system until October 2024. This process will involve accessing meter boxes to uncover water lines and accurately identify their materials.
Additionally, we are also checking the service line material where the line enters the customer’s dwelling. While we do not anticipate discovering any lead service lines, we are actively confirming the material of all service lines during this period.
